Welcome to Top Knot photography!!

I’m so glad you’re here — and I’m really excited to photograph you.

Booking photos can feel like a big thing (even if you’re excited), so this guide walks you through exactly what to expect next. My goal is to make this easy, relaxed, and actually enjoyable from start to finish.

What Happens Next

1. You’re Officially Booked

Once your contract is signed and your retainer is paid, your session date and time are locked in on my calendar. At this point, you don’t need to do anything else — I’ve got you.

2. Session Planning Support

A few days after booking, I’ll reach out with:

Location ideas (or confirmation if you already chose one)

What to expect during your session

Simple guidance so you don’t feel unprepared

You never have to show up not knowing what to do — I’ll guide you every step of the way.

3. What to Wear (Don’t Overthink This)

You’ll receive light outfit guidance, but here’s the short version:

Wear something comfortable and you

Neutrals and soft colors photograph beautifully

Don’t stress about matching perfectly — connection matters more

If you’re unsure, you’re always welcome to ask.

4. The Day of Your Session

This is meant to feel relaxed, not stiff or awkward.

During your session:

I’ll gently guide you (no perfect posing required)

Kids don’t need to behave “perfectly”

We’ll focus on real moments, not forced smiles

Your only job is to show up and be present. I’ll handle the rest.

5. After Your Session

Within 2–3 weeks, you’ll receive:

A private online gallery

Fully edited images in my signature Top Knot Photography style

Easy download access

From there, you can download, share, and print your photos however you’d like.

6. Prints & Products (Optional)

If you’d like help choosing prints, albums, or wall art, I’m always happy to help — no pressure, ever.

A Few Helpful Notes

Life happens. If something comes up, just communicate — I’m human too.

If kids need breaks, that’s okay.

If you feel awkward at first, that’s normal — it always passes.

Some of the most meaningful images come from moments that didn’t feel “perfect” at the time.

You’re in Good Hands

My clients often tell me how calm and supported they felt during their session — and that’s exactly what I want for you.

If you have questions at any point, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m here for you.

Can’t wait to create something meaningful together,

Julie
