This is my first photoshoot, what should I know?
First: you don’t need to know what you’re doing. Like at all.
You don’t need to practice posing, you don’t need to be “photogenic,” and you don’t need to show up with a plan. That’s literally my job.
Here’s what to expect:
I will guide you the whole time. I’ll tell you where to stand, what to do with your hands, where to look, how to angle your body — all of it.
It won’t feel awkward for long. Everyone feels a little weird for the first 2 minutes. Then you relax and it gets easy.
You don’t have to be perfect. You can laugh, mess up, be nervous, have hair in your face — it’s fine. That’s how real photos happen.
Wear something you feel good in. The best outfits are ones you’re comfortable in and can move in. If you feel confident, it’ll show.
Trust the process. The “in between” moments are usually the best ones — and I’m watching for them the entire time.
The biggest thing? Just show up.
I’ve got the rest. And you’re going to leave saying, “Wait… that was actually really fun.”
Are the travel expenses included in your packages?
Yes, unless otherwise specified. But in general, all locations within 1 hour of Queen Creek are included in the session fees. Anything outside of that will be an additional .70 cents per mile charge.
What happens if it's cloudy/ windy/ rainy?
Honestly — cloudy is totally fine (sometimes it’s even better because it’s soft, flattering light). Wind is also normal here in AZ, and I’ll help you work with it — plus a little movement in hair/clothes can actually look really pretty in photos.
If it’s raining or the weather is going to make the session miserable, we’ll reschedule. No stress. I keep weather back-up options available and I’ll be watching the forecast with you.
Bottom line: you’re not going to show up and have a ruined session. We’ll make a smart call and make sure you still get amazing photos.
What time of day is best for photos?
Best lighting is usually the last 1–2 hours before sunset (aka “golden hour”). That’s when everything looks warm, glowy, and flattering.
That being said — not everyone can do sunset and that’s okay. We can still get beautiful photos earlier in the day depending on the location. I’ll help you choose the best time based on where we’re shooting and what look you want.
So basically: you don’t have to figure that out — I’ll recommend the best time for your session.
